We were so blessed to get Samuel home from the NICU last Friday night. And one day later, I had to be re-admitted to the hospital for postpartum preeclampsia.
What we thought would be a quick run to the ER for dehydration, has now turned into a week stay at the hospital.
I'm doing my best to stay positive, but as you can imagine, being separated from your newborn for three whole weeks is pure torture for me. Add in the postpartum hormones, and well, I just don't stand a chance.
I miss my boys like crazy. And my heart breaks at the thought of missing the precious first moments between them.
I am so thankful, however, that I got to witness their meeting on the night Samuel came home. It was a night I'll never forget, and the beginning of a beautiful friendship (and a fair share of future arguments, I'm sure.)
I'm also thankful for our wonderful family and friends who have been there for us these past few weeks.
I'm hoping to get back home soon, so we can finally begin our lives as a family of four.
Until then, please accept our silence on the blog. It's times like these we put everything on hold to take care of our loved ones.
Hopefully we'll be back in no time, with more pictures of Samuel than you can stand. ;)
